Nominate the SCAA as “Must Follow Non-Profit” in the Mashable Awards

With over 30 million monthly pageviews and 9.7 million unique monthly visitors Mashable is without a doubt one of the largest online news sites dedicated to social media and they are currently accepting nominations for their 4th annual Mashable Awards. There are numerous categories such as “Best Mobile Device” and “Most Creative Social Media Campaign” but the one we’re throwing our hat in the ring for is “Must Follow Non Profit“. In their own words, the Mashable Awards “celebrate major innovations and achievements in the digital and social media landscape by companies, people and projects via an open, multilingual, international, community-nominated voting platform.”

The SCAA committed to becoming fully engaged online last year and to developing a social media presence that would support our ongoing efforts to ensure coffee, and the people involved in coffee, may reach its fullest potential. We’ve grown from 600 to over 4,800 Facebook fans in a little over a year and expanded our Twitter presence to more than 5,100 followers. We see social media as one of our best opportunities to share specialty coffee’s message with both the professional community as well as the consumer and recognition by one of the web’s largest social media sites would certainly help us continue to grow our following.
