Workshops towards BGA & RG Certification-upcoming SCAA class offerings

2010 is going to be the year of education for the SCAA. With Ellie now on board, members can expect to see more regional class offerings towards certification.

The next SBWs are right around the corner, and space is very limited. If you’re in the Southern California area (or plan to be for the Western Regional Barista Competition) you’re not going to want to miss these courses:

Skill Building Workshop at the WRBC:
Dates: FEBRUARY 26-27

Place: SIREN STUDIOS, HOLLYWOOD

o This is Roasters Guild Certification Course, Journeyman Level – J2

Beta Courses of Four Courses towards Certification
The SCAA Professional Development Committee is holding a special two days of Skill Building at our lab in Long Beach on Monday & Tuesday, March 1-2. We are offering Beta versions of four brand-new SCAA courses to be introduced at the Anaheim Expo in April.

• CP101_Introduction to Espresso Part 1
• CP102_Introduction to Espresso Part 2
• CP201_Grind-Dose-Tamp-Extract
• CP202_Bar Efficiency & Workflow.

CLASS LEVELS:
• The 100-level classes are Beginner Level and count towards BGA Level one Certification
• The 200-level classes are Intermediate Level and count towards BGA Level Two Certification

CLASS SCHEDULE:
Each of these is a half-day course and each course counts toward BGA Level 1 or Level 2 Barista Certification.

Friday:
• CP101_Introduction to Espresso Part 1 – 9am -12pm
• CP102_Introduction to Espresso Part 2 – 1:30 – 4:30pm

Saturday:
• CP201_Grind-Dose-Tamp-Extract – 9am-12pm
